Many couples begin their search for a Berks County wedding venue assuming they’ll stay close to home. But after touring a handful of spaces, they often realize they’re looking for something a little different. Something that feels unique, personal, and unlike every other wedding they’ve attended.
Located in historic downtown Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Arrow is an easy drive straight up Route 61. We offer plentiful parking (not a muddy field in sight), nearby hotels, charming bed and breakfasts, and multiple Airbnb and VRBO options for out-of-town guests.
One of the things couples love most is turning their wedding into a full weekend experience. Guests can explore downtown, grab coffee the morning after, visit local restaurants, tour Yuengling Brewery, or simply enjoy a walkable, welcoming downtown atmosphere.
A Historic Wedding Venue With Modern Amenities
Nathan’s Furniture served the Pottsville community as a family-owned business. The brand operated in multiple locations over the decades before eventually making 316 N. Centre Street its home in the 1950s. Today, that same building is home to Arrow.
Just outside the building, the streetscape adds to the experience. A Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission marker honors Allan P. Jaffe, a Pottsville native and founder of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band in New Orleans. Positioned just steps from Arrow, it brings a sense of history, culture, and character to the setting that makes downtown celebrations here feel even more meaningful.
When owners Allie and Jared purchased the property in July of 2022, the building had been completely vacant since 2010. Remnants of past tenants and the former furniture store still remained, but underneath it all were what they like to call “the good bones” — the kind of craftsmanship and structure that simply feels solid, timeless, and well built.
The building was fully gutted, revealing its original maple flooring and exposing the beautiful ceiling beams that now help create Arrow’s signature loft feel. From the beginning, the vision was to design a space that felt airy, elevated, and flexible. One that honored the character of the historic building while still feeling fresh and refined.
After planning their own wedding in 2018, Allie and Jared came into the project with a unique perspective. Allie brought an extensive background in hospitality, weddings, and events, while Jared brought his expertise as a contractor and builder. He went on to lead the entire renovation through his construction company, overseeing every detail of the build and bringing the vision to life with an exceptional level of craftsmanship and care.
Nearly every element of the space was thoughtfully restored or repurposed. Original features, including the bar, were preserved to honor the building’s history while giving them new life within the design. Allie worked closely alongside the process, refining the aesthetic direction and personally restoring elements like the original maple flooring to ensure the space felt both elevated and true to its roots.
Together, they managed every step of the transformation, pouring themselves into the project and often working late into the night to create something truly special.
The result is Arrow. A downtown loft wedding venue with history, warmth, and versatility at its core. It is a space designed to feel like a chameleon, able to take on romantic, modern, classic, or editorial styles while always maintaining its signature charm.
Why Couples Choose Arrow Over A Traditional Barn Venue
Pennsylvania has no shortage of beautiful barn wedding venues. In fact, many of our couples tour several before they find us.
What we hear over and over again is that couples love the character and charm of a historic space, but they’re looking for something that feels a little more elevated, flexible, and uniquely their own.
Arrow combines the warmth and history couples love with the convenience of a downtown location and a bright, airy design that serves as a true blank canvas.
One of our favorite compliments came from a guest who described the space as “Dan Humphrey’s Brooklyn loft meets Serena van der Woodsen’s Upper East Side penthouse.”
We’ll take it.
The venue was intentionally designed by husband-and-wife team Allie and Jared to feel beautiful before a single decoration is brought through the door. Historic maple flooring, exposed beams, neutral walls, custom lighting, and original architectural details create a backdrop that works equally well for romantic, modern, classic, editorial, or garden-inspired weddings.
Many couples find they can spend less on décor because the space already feels finished and intentional. No chair covers. No hiding walls. No trying to transform a room into something it’s not.
And unlike many rural venues, your guests have access to hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, nightlife, and activities just steps away. Instead of coordinating complicated transportation schedules, many couples find downtown Pottsville naturally creates a more relaxed and memorable wedding weekend experience.
